Use this section to create a letter or certificate to print as a pdf and save to the patient's record. To create a new letter click New. To view a letter that you have already created click View next to the letter's title. Letters can be deleted for 24 hours after they are created whereafter they are locked in the system for medicolegal reasons.
On clicking New you will be taken to the editing screen. If you have letter templates already created you can select it from the drop down list and it will be inserted into the body area of the letter with the relevant details. If you haven't created a templates there are name and address details for the patient, GP and referring practitioner down the bottom of the screen which you can copy and paste into the letter.
You must also enter a title for the letter and then you can format the body text of the letter using the toolbar. As per a normal web editor pressing return inserts a paragraph space (i.e. a double line break). To insert a single line press Shift and Enter together.
To save the letter click Save. To print click Print and a pdf copy will open in another window which you can either print to paper or save to a file. To exit without saving click Back.
To view a letter that you have saved, click View next to the letter's title on the main letters page. From here you can print the letter. Letters cannot be edited once saved for medicolegal reasons. If you have made an error we recommend copying the the letter by highlighting the text, creating a new letter and pasting in the text. Then make any edits you want before saving. you can then delete the old letter if it is less than 24 hours old.
